De Pere Boys and Girls Turn in Strong Meet Performances
The De Pere track and field teams put together a strong showing, with both the boys and girls squads displaying depth, talent, and balance across multiple events.
Boys: Depth and Balance Lead the Way
The De Pere boys delivered one of their most complete performances of the season, highlighted by strength in both sprints and distance.
In the 100 meters, De Pere dominated by sweeping the top four spots, led by Gavin Jensky. That momentum carried into the 200 meters, where the team placed second, third, and fourth . The sprint group showed both speed and depth throughout the meet.
The distance runners were just as impressive. Noah Zhang and Brett Spice finished first and second in the 800 meters, while De Pere swept the top three spots in the 3200. Strong finishes in the 1600 added to an already impressive showing .
Tyler Hancock had a standout day, winning both hurdle events and taking first in the long jump.
De Pere also performed well in the relays, winning the 4x800 and placing near the top in the 4x100 and 4x400. In the field events, the team picked up big points with a 1–2 finish in the shot put and strong results in jumps and throws.
Overall, the boys showed great balance and depth, scoring in nearly every event.
Girls: Distance and Field Events Shine
The De Pere girls team also had a strong meet, led by excellent performances in distance events and the throws.
In the sprints, Alana Schiegg and Nevaeh Randall placed second and third in the 100 meters, with Randall adding a second-place finish in the 200 .
The distance group stood out. De Pere swept the top three spots in the 800 meters, and Isabella Heinen won both the 1600 and 3200. The team added several more strong finishes across those events .
Relays were another highlight. The 4x400 and 4x800 teams both took first place, showing strong teamwork and depth.
In the field events, De Pere controlled the throws. Hailey Gerlikowski won both shot put and discus, while teammates added more top finishes. The team also had a strong showing in pole vault and other jumping events .
Overall
Both teams showed strong depth and the ability to compete across a wide range of events. The boys were especially balanced, while the girls stood out in distance races and field events.
De Pere continues to look like a competitive team heading into the rest of the season.
